Weekly or biweekly therapy with Rachel

I’m not a regular therapist, I’m a cool therapist.

Let’s get your shit figured out

I’m Rachel. I’m quirky, I feel most like myself in nature, I make up lyrics to songs (like Weird Al) and sing them to my dog who does not appreciate them as much as she should. Yes, I have terrible dance moves to go along with it. I think I’m funny, so much so that I sometimes do stand-up comedy. I’ll make some jokes when we’re working together- that way we can laugh and cry!

When I first started therapy (when I was the client) I was awkward AF. I was super skeptical and thought inner child work was bizarre woo-woo shit. I wanted a “10 steps to healing success” and I read every self-help book and intellectualized every aspect of my life…and it wasn’t the answer for me. I started to dabble in parts work/internal family systems and psychedelics and acceptance/loving myself instead of “fixing all of my shit as fast as I could” and things transformed for me.

So now, I get to partner with lovely clients like you to stop trying to fix their broken selves and make space for all parts of themselves. I hope to help you appreciate the things that you did to cope with lives challenges. Maybe perfectionism helped you get attention from your parents but now it no longer serves you in the same way or when you shame yourself it’s not as painful when you hear those messages from someone else. Maybe you don’t let yourself feel joy or fully relax because you’re waiting for the next bad thing to strike.

Those parts of you are hard workers, so let’s put them to work on your current goals. Maybe you want some relief from anxiety or burnout or the pieces that still linger from your chaotic childhood.

Let’s do a free 15 min video chat to see if we’re a good fit!

I offer 53 minute video appointments. Part of my practice is treating sleep disorders and part of my practice is longer term work with clients. If you’re considering long-term work, shoot me an email and lets schedule a free 15 min video call to see if we vibe!!

You don’t need to be easier, calmer, or more put together to be here.

I hear things like: “Am I too broken?” “Is this TMI?” “Am I taking up too much space?” Not here. I didn’t become a therapist because I wanted easy, neat clients. We can get messy and we can heal. Bring your full, authentic self. We’ll do the work together.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, gender-affirming, anti-racist, and inclusive of people from all cultural, religious, and relationship backgrounds. I believe mental health care should be a place where every person feels safe, respected, and empowered to be their authentic self.

Therapy Modalities I mix together to make my own Frankenstein therapy:

  • Internal Family Systems/Parts work (sort of like the Pixar movie Inside out)
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (fancy words for embracing our current circumstances instead of wasting all of our effort fighting our current reality)
  • Somatic Experiencing (listening to our body sensations and pendulating from intense to chill)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing/EMDR (not hypnosis but still wild- processing traumas by having one foot in the present moment and one foot in the memory)

Random stuff about Rachel

I hike everyday, kayak whenever I can, play in an adult skee-ball league, paint, needle-felt, love board games, and occasionally perform stand-up comedy.
